Canada Pansori Center is a non-profit organization that is committed to the integration of Korean culture into Canadian society. Since 2023, our team has worked together to build a more creative, accessible, and inclusive community.
Pansori creates a participatory space (pan) through voicing (sori). It is a traditional Korean performing art that combines singing, narration, acting, and movement to tell stories. Accompanied by a Korean barrel drum called buk, Pansori performances invite audience interaction through vocal encouragement known as chuimsae.
Each one of us has a voice, audible or not. We believe in the power of voice to make the unheard heard. While our focus lies in nurturing Korean musical traditions in Canada and beyond, our mission extends to amplifying our voices through connection, cross-cultural dialogue, and community engagement. The Canada Pansori Center adds our voices to the shared chorus of humanity.
